Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Special Education
Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to understand clients' mental health needs.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
· Provide counseling sessions, both individual and group.
· Offer crisis intervention and support.
· Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
· Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
· Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
· Educate clients and their families about mental health issues and coping strategies.
· Stay updated on the latest research and developments in mental health counseling.
· Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Mental Health Counselor Requirements & Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field. Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
· Licensed or certified as a Mental Health Counselor.
· 2 years experience working in educational or community-based settings preferred.
· Experience working with diverse populations.
· Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Commitment to maintaining ethical and professional standards.
· Experience with electronic health records and documentation.
· State licensure or certification as required by law.
· Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent empathy and active listening skills
· Ability to build rapport and trust with clients
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Pay: $32.00 per hour
