Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pharmacist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 52 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Pharmacist – IHS (Blackfeet Community Hospital) Facility: Blackfeet Community Hospital Location: 761 Hospital Drive Browning, MT 59417 Client: Indian Health Service Job Summary The Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care services, including medication dispensing, clinical review, and patient counseling. This role ensures safe, effective, and compliant medication practices while supporting quality patient care in a federal healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness Dispense prescriptions and ensure proper labeling and documentation Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and adherence Monitor for drug interactions and adverse reactions Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams on treatment plans Maintain accurate patient medication records using EHR systems Administer immunizations (if certified) Participate in inventory management and controlled substance audits Respond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate care (CPR if required) Minimum Qualifications PharmD or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Experience Required Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience (clinical or hospital preferred) Experience in federal/IHS or rural healthcare settings is a plus Skills & Competencies Strong clinical and pharmacological knowledge Excellent communication and patient counseling skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with Native American communities Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems Work Schedule Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour shift with 1-hour lunch) Occasional weekend or emergency coverage as needed About Encode INC At Encode, we empower organizations and individuals through innovative, human-centric workforce and technology solutions.
