We are searching for a passionate and meticulous Development Assistant to join our dedicated team in Riverside, CA. The Development Assistant will support fundraising, grant development, donor engagement, marketing, and communications efforts. As a member of the Strategy & Advancement Department, this position provides administrative and project support across the Development, External Affairs and Marketing departments, contributing to resource development, community engagement and organizational visibility. This role assists with grant reporting, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, events, scheduling, and external communications. The Development Assistant also helps create engaging digital content, social media assets, reels, e-blast campaigns, e-newsletters, and marketing materials that showcase the impact of our programs, services, and community initiatives while maintaining brand consistency. This position is a full-time position, 5 days a week in the Riverside, CA location. The Development Assistant will report to the Development for daily oversight. Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with grant proposal development, submission, and reporting. Research funding opportunities on local, state, federal, corporate, and foundation levels. Maintain grant calendars, reporting schedules, and compliance requirements. Prepare supporting documents including budgets, organizational materials, impact data, and program outcomes. Maintain and organize a library of grant support documents including grant contracts, grant agreements, previously submitted applications and reports, resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/Staff demographics information, and additional related organizational documents. Create and coordinate content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms. Develop engaging short-form video content, including reels and promotional videos highlighting TruEvolution programs, events, staff, clients, and community impact. Design and develop digital assets, graphics, presentations, and promotional materials that support organizational goals. Draft and distribute e-newsletters, e-blasts, donor communications, fundraising appeals, and marketing campaigns. Assist with content planning and editorial calendars to ensure consistent audience engagement. We are looking for someone who is: Ability to be self motivated and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls. Demonstrated follow through on tasks and goals, with careful attention to detail. Proven organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex organizational data into clear and simple messages for a wide range of audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities. Strong storytelling, editing, content creation, and copywriting abilities. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and a true problem-solver. Service-oriented, professional, and a collaborative team player. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The Physical Requirements/Demands of this position are: Light physical activity including prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods Occasionally walking and moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite building to another Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. Ascending or descending sets of stairs or ramps when other means of movement are not available All staff are expected to: Attend weekly staff meetings (2x per month), on time and prepared with requested updates or materials. Attend annual staff retreat (1x per year) Attend one (1) conference or professional development training per year Attend all signature annual TruEvolution activations as requested, including: Youth United, Annual Gala – Legacy Ball, and other “key” events to the annual programmatic calendar. Travel- All positions at TruEvolution may require travel on a regular basis or periodically. Where the need arises for business travel, appropriate compensation as outlined by the Fair Labor Standards Act will apply. Other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications are: Education & Experience Years of Experience: 1-2 years of experience in nonprofit development, communications, marketing, fundraising, public relations, or related fields preferred. Education: High School/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Prior grant writing, grant reporting, fundraising, or marketing experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain productive relationships with individuals, organizations and/or governmental agencies. Prior research experience, including prospective grants research.
