Grounds Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Grounds Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and landscaping of outdoor areas and buildings and for the safety of the campus grounds. This position is subject to call backs during emergency conditions such as severe weather, evacuation and post-disaster. The Grounds Coordinator respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide outstanding customer service by ensuring that residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individual’s needs and rights
Inspect and clean all walkways and entrances to residential buildings
Ensure all walkways are clear of debris and other safety issues
Inspect and monitor water features, pond and irrigation system
Coordinate the semi-annual campus-wide cleanings with local service providers
Ensure that fertilization, pesticide treatments, and tree trimmings are done as needed
Assist staff with planning, installing and removing seasonal decorations
Ensure that all outdoor lighting is in proper working order
Mow, edge and weed the grounds
Inspect and clean all trash dumpsters and work with City of Venice for replacements
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

Working outdoors in the Florida heat.
Standing for long periods of time
Walking long distances daily
Lifting, pushing and carrying up to 100 lbs
Repetitive actions/motion of one or both hands
Hearing ordinary conversation and office sounds
Verbal communication in person and on the phone
Written communication by hand and on PC
Work schedule includes evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping and irrigation
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of Florida landscaping a plus
