Position: Engineering Manager Full Stack EngineeringLocation: Newark, CA***OnsiteDuration: 1 YearRole OverviewWe are seeking an Engineering Manager Full Stack Engineering who combines strong people leadership, hands-on technical depth, and modern execution practices. This is a player-coach role, where you will spend approximately 50% of your time coding while managing one or more Scrum pods delivering mission-critical enterprise platforms.A key expectation for this role is day-to-day, practical use of AI to improve engineering productivity, quality, and speed. You will champion AI adoption, continuously learn new AI capabilities, and coach engineers on how to use AI responsibly and effectively across the software development lifecycle.An Ideal Candidate WillPeople Leadership & Team Development:Directly manage, mentor, and coach full-stack engineers, driving performance, career growth, and engineering excellenceAct as a coach and mentor, helping engineers grow technically, professionally, and in their effective use of AI toolsBuild high-performing, psychologically safe teams that value ownership, accountability, and continuous improvementLead one or more Scrum pods, ensuring predictable delivery, quality execution, and healthy team dynamicsFoster a culture of learning, experimentation, and modern engineering practicesHands-On Technical Leadership ( 50%):Actively contribute production code across backend services, frontend applications, and shared platformsLead by example with high-quality coding, testing, and design practicesOwn and review solution designs with a strong focus on security, scalability, reliability, and observabilityPerform thorough, actionable code reviews and set technical standards for the teamTroubleshoot complex issues, lead root cause analysis, and drive long-term engineering improvementsAI-Driven Engineering & Innovation (Must Have)Use AI as a core part of daily work, including:Coding and refactoringCode reviews and quality analysisDesign and architecture ideationDocumentation generationIdentifying inefficiencies and optimization opportunitiesChampion the adoption of AI tools and workflows across the team to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speedStay current with emerging AI capabilities and apply them pragmatically to real engineering problemsTeach and coach engineers on how to effectively and responsibly use AI in day-to-day developmentHelp establish best practices and guardrails for AI-assisted development within the teamExecution & Operational ExcellenceDrive sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and delivery trackingProactively identify delivery risks, technical debt, and capacity constraints, and lead mitigation effortsEnsure all development artifacts comply with security, compliance, and regulatory standardsEmbed reliability, availability, operational excellence, and observability into everyday engineering workLead post-release reviews, incident follow-ups, and continuous improvement actionsReporting & CommunicationDevelop clear, data-driven reports for senior leadership covering delivery status, risks, dependencies, and outcomesTranslate complex technical topics into executive-friendly updates, dashboards, and summariesCommunicate effectively with product, architecture, operations, and business stakeholdersOperate comfortably across distributed teams and time zonesBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent practical experience12+ years of software engineering experience with proven people management responsibilityDemonstrated experience managing Agile/Scrum pods in delivery-focused environmentsStrong hands-on experience as a full-stack engineer in modern enterprise systemsPreferred Skills/ExperienceProven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teamsStrong Experience WithBackend: Java/Spring Boot, Node.jsFrontend: React, TypeScript (Angular/Vue acceptable)Hands-on experience designing and building microservices and REST APIsCloud-native development experience on AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda, etc.)Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins/CloudBees, etc.)Strong understanding of scalability, performance, resiliency, and security patternsExperience using metrics, dashboards, and reports to track delivery health and operational performancePractical experience using AI-powered development tools to improve engineering efficiency and outcomesSkillsMandatory Skills : AWS API Gateway, Aws Step Functions, Java, React
