Accounting Manager CPA Firm
Unify doesn’t look like the conventional CPA firm. Stands to reason that our Accounting Manager wouldn’t look like the conventional accounting position at a CPA firm! We expect our Accounting Managers to manage their section as if they were the owner of Unify, because the way we’re structured, an Accounting Manager position with us is like managing an accounting firm within an accounting firm. That means our Accounting Managers are completely responsible for all accounting and tax matters in a section of 40-50 clients.Our Accounting Managers:Hire, train, supervise and monitor the production of the Staff Accountants in their sectionAnswer all technical processing / accounting questions of Staff AccountantsReview monthly financial statements produced by Staff AccountantsAttend and administer Initial Strategy Sessions on new clients, and then set up and process new clients until passing accounts to Staff AccountantsBuild and maintain strategic business partner relationships with clientsMonitor profitability for clients based on time and transactions and discuss fee adjustments when necessaryConduct annual tax planning, prepare tax returns, review final returns, answer tax-related questions and respond to taxing authorities.We are looking for an Accounting Aficionado who:Has at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least five years experience in Public Accounting (excluding experience in audit, government or the private sector)Is either a CPA or EA, or willing and eligible to become oneIs a servant leader, able to mentor and inspire othersLoves building relationships and communicating with clients, treating them as the most important thing in our businessIs the kind of team player who is enjoyable, humble, confident, and accountable; who shows up, finds solutions, and looks for opportunities to grow and improveWill hold our culture well.This will not be the right opportunity for those who:Lack at least five years experience in a CPA firm focused on tax (as opposed to audit, private accounting, or government)Lack the competence and confidence needed to walk in humility and therefore feel the need to trumpet their success or seek excessive validationExhibit victim behavior, speaking as if they have no voice, or complaining as if they can’t affect outcomes.Are not early adapters with emerging technologies like AI, valuing the increased productivity and efficiency they bringAren’t interested in being part of a firm that expects to triple its revenue in the next 10 years.Expected annualized salary for this position is $90,000 - $125,000We expect to consider candidates for this position through the end of February.
