Responsibilities include answering incoming phone calls in a timely manner, directing calls as needed and scheduling patient appointments using the EMR system while utilizing a high attention to detail.What does a typical day on the job look like?Efficiently using a high attention to detail Handles the scheduling needs for patient appointments by answering incoming calls in a timely and courteous manner, returning patient calls for scheduling concerns, and assisting other schedulers in managing incoming callsSearching for patients using two patient identifiers to reduce errors and to avoid creating duplicate accountsCompletes eligibility verification and registration process accurately and in a timely manner Collects patient payments or co-paysEnsures all demographic and insurance information is correctly entered into the system.Initiates new patient setups in EMR system and schedules interpreter appointments as necessary to assist patients during visitInforms the patient or patient representative of any required preparations or instructions prior to appointment as well as confirming the correct check in time and locationPerforms all other duties as assignedWhat are the requirements for the job?High School diploma or GED equivalentMinimum one year of experience, in a physician office setting preferred. Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquetteTyping/keyboarding skills requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environmentBasic office skills, critical thinking, detail orientedMedical terminology knowledge preferredOur North StarHere at NKC Health, we believe in care empowered.
