Job Title: Contract and Acquisition Specialist Location: Springfield VA Job Type: Full-time Clearance Required: Public Trust Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Contract and Acquisition Specialist to support our organization's procurement, contracting, and acquisition processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing federal contracts, developing acquisition strategies, and ensuring compliance with government procurement regulations with DHS experience. Key Responsibilities: Lead the full procurement life cycle, from requirement gathering and market research to contract negotiation, award, and post-award management. Draft, review, and manage contracts in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other relevant government policies. Ensure all contracts and acquisitions are in strict compliance with federal procurement policies, including FAR, DHS, and ITAR regulations. Develop spend plans, track funding obligations, and assist with budget forecasts and projections. Lead and mentor the acquisition team, providing training on acquisition policies and procedures, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Create and maintain all acquisition-related documentation, ensuring a comprehensive central repository of procurement requisitions artifacts. Track and report on the performance of acquisition and procurement activities, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to streamline processes. Collaborate with internal departments, including IT, finance, and program management. requirements. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal contract and acquisition management, preferably within DHS or other federal agencies. Experience with IT infrastructure acquisition is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote) Familiarity ITIL methodologies, and Spend Plan tracking. Clearance: Public Trust is Required Key Competencies: Strong knowledge of FAR, HSAM Appendix G, and DHS procurement policies. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in cost estimation and financial analysis. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines. Leadership experience in guiding teams through complex acquisition processes.
