Java Backend Developer with Node JS - Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

The organization emphasizes long-term partnerships, professional growth, and high-quality service delivery for both clients and team members.Role Description This contract role is for a Java Backend Developer with Node.js, based in Phoenix, AZ in a hybrid work arrangement, combining onsite work with some work-from-home flexibility. The developer will design, implement, and maintain backend services and microservices using Java, Node.js, and related frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, building RESTful APIs, integrating with databases and third-party services, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance of backend systems. The role also involves participating in code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of development practices and tools. The developer will work closely with architects, QA professionals, and product stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions on schedule.Qualifications Strong backend Software Development experience, including Programming fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms) and API design.Hands-on expertise with Java and the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC) for building robust backend services.Experience designing and developing Microservices architectures, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, and observability.Proficiency with Node.js for backend development, including building and maintaining scalable services and integrations.Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, query optimization, and data modeling.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing practices.Understanding of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a hybrid, collaborative environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
