Senior CloudOps Engineer – Data Platforms

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior CloudOps Engineer to work in a team involved in the migration from a monolithic system to a modern, cloud-native microservices platform with domain databases. You will work closely with Solutions Architects, DevOps, CloudOps, and the Database teams to build-out, optimize, secure, highly available data platforms infrastructure with an affinity to RDS databases and participate in database migration. Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Solutions Architects, DevOps, and CloudOps teamsWrite and maintain Terraform modules for AWS infrastructure provisioningMaintain and enhance Github CI/CD pipelinesProvision and deploy databases on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQLTroubleshoot and resolve database and MS AD SSO connectivity issuesSchema conversion and data migration from legacy databases (e.g., Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server) to PostgreSQLEnsure data integrity, performance, and reliability during and after migrationRequired SkillsStrong understanding of AWS networking, VPC, subnets, route tables, security groupsExperience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform & CloudFormation)Experience managing IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege accessExperience with CI/CD and DevOps practices, Github, and Github ActionsExperience with AWS Secrets Manager for credential managementMonitoring/troubleshooting using Performance Insights and CloudWatch metricsKnowledge of encryption using AWS KMS (at rest and in transit)Experience with secure database access, MS AD, and authentication mechanismsExperience configuring Multi-AZ, Read Replicas, and cross-region replicationPreferred SkillsExperience or involvement in RDS migrations from legacy relational databasesFamiliarity w/AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) & schema conversion (SCT)Some database administration experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server)Familiarity with AWS RDS PostgreSQL or AuroraFamiliarity with backup, restore, snapshots, and disaster recovery strategiesProficiency in Python and familiar with unix scripting such as bashAWS certifications (Solutions Architect, CloudOps or DevOps Engineer)
