CASE MANAGER I

SUMMARY Ensures compliance in standards in evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients of the Street Outreach & Advocacy Program Basic Center (SOAP BC). Collaborates with the management team to ensure delivery of quality services. JOB DUTIES Provides advocacy and referral services and serve as a liaison with local community agencies. Interviews and screens clients for services. Creates and maintains clients file according to established policies and procedures. Provides information to the general public regarding program. Compiles and submits monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required. Attends training and specialty training as it applies to this position. Works as part of a team providing quality care following departmental policies and procedures. The incumbent of this position must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines. The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures. Ability to report to work in a timely manner. Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices. Understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, as well as cross-cultural communication styles. Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software. Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and consumers. Ability to work independently as well as with teams. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience) High School diploma or GED. Two (2) years of work experience in the social service field. Strong understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native populations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience) Associate’s degree in human development, social services, counseling or related field.
