Real Estate ParalegalBurr & Forman LLP has an immediate opening in our Bluffton, SC office for a full-time, experienced real estate paralegal. This position requires knowledge of all aspects of real estate closings from start to finish. If you're a service-minded professional with intellectual curiosity and excellent work ethic, please consider joining our team at Burr & Forman.Key ContributionsReview and analyze abstract and title documents in order to assist in preparation for commercial real estate closingsReview loan documents from lenders for the purpose of preparing commercial real estate closingsDraft closing disclosures, deeds, affidavits, legal descriptions, HUD, and other required closing documentsEstablish, organize and maintain files, closing documents, document binders, and listsProrate taxes and other property assessmentsConduct research and locate tax information, zoning, development regulations, and other informationAssist in the preparation of closings by preparing executable closing documents, disbursement requests, and correspondenceServe as a liaison between clients, realtors, lenders, abstractors, title underwriter, and attorneyMaintain and balance incoming and outgoing closing fundsOther responsibilities as neededThe EssentialsA bachelor's degree, paralegal degree or certification, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAt least three years of experience in real estate transactions is requiredProficiency in Qualia preferred; MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is requiredHighly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team.Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situationsStrong communication and drafting skillsMust work well in a collaborative legal team environmentSome overtime may be requiredThis position is a unique opportunity to join a firm that prioritizes our clients, colleagues, and communities.
