Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis.What you will doPerforms diagnostic sonographic imaging proceduresPerforms quality control and quality assessmentAssists physicians with interventional proceduresEnsures the day to day operations run smoothly and issues are reported promptlyParticipates in staff in-service programKeeps area supplied and cleanAssists with orientation of new staff and studentsAssists clerical area when neededPerform HIS/RIS/PACS functionsMaintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expenseParticipates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiativesOther job duties as assignedEducation Qualifications* Graduate of an accredited Medical Diagnostic Sonography Program Required or* Evidence of Medical Diagnostic Sonography training from the United States Military RequiredExperience Qualifications* Minimum of two years' relevant experience in performing ultrasound procedures PreferredSkills and AbilitiesCommunicate with patients, families, visitors, physicians, nursing staff, other hospital staff members, and various other customers of all ages in emergent and non-emergent situationsArticulate, read, and write diagnosis and symptoms on pertinent patient exams. Must have an understanding of medical terminology. Will use accepted hospital communication processes such as read back and verify, asking clarifying questions, SBAR, and the language hotline to assure safe communications with customersAdd, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsConsiderable initiative and judgment is required in performing and supervising the Ultrasound department in a safe and efficient work area. This position requires clear speech, attentiveness, and sound judgmentRequired to have a general based knowledge of computers and windows based program. As technology advances, so do the computer needs of this profession. The individual must be competent on a PC and also the advanced software applications of modalityLicenses and Certifications* ARRT or ARMDS certification Required* AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire RequiredCompensation:Hourly Range - $32.00 - $48.00Incentives:Eligible for evening/night, weekend shift incentive based on company policies and applicable job codes.
