Its a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future including your own.Were actively seeking a high-impact Application Development Consultant to join our Pacific Life Technology team as a remote employee or in one of our Home Office locations (Newport Beach, CA; Omaha, NE; Charlotte, NC).As an Application Development Consultant, youll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by joining a team of 10-12 experienced application development professionals. This role provides expert-level application development leadership to design, enhance, and deliver scalable Life policy administration capabilities to support CMDs ongoing growth. You will play a critical part to deliver complex software solutions, drive system sustainability and modernization, and identify innovative improvements across our processes and technology to ensure long?term scalability and operational excellence.How youll help move us forward:
Software Development
Analyze complex business and technical requests and independently design, build, test, and deploy software solutions that support CMDs evolving objectivesProvide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to elevate development practices within the teamEnsure architecture consistency across platforms by collaborating closely with technology leadership and architecture teamsContribute to technical roadmaps and portfolio planning by identifying long?term opportunities, risks, and modernization strategiesMaintenance & Application Management
Promote reuse and simplification by identifying opportunities to leverage existing solution componentsEnsure solutions are built using the appropriate technologies, comply with divisional standards, and meet functional and non?functional requirementsDefine solution allocation across application areas, ensuring alignment with business rules embedded in core administration systemsPerform deep?dive analysis of production issues, respond promptly to outages, and partner with business stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve system defectsIdentify optimization opportunities that enhance resilience, reduce manual effort, or improve system performanceConduct technical evaluations of software components, tools, and patterns to inform modernization initiativesPartnership & Work Management
Independently manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution across concurrent initiativesPartner with various technology functions to ensure end?to?end solution quality and continuity of knowledge across the Life Admin ecosystemContribute to a collaborative culture that encourages shared learning, broadens team capabilities, and strengthens cross?functional alignmentThe experience you bring:
10+ years of experience in application development or technical support for mainframe applications and databasesExperience with Life Insurance processes and platformsHands-on expertise with Cyberlife, ALIS or VantageStrong understanding of Agile methodologies and iterative deliveryWhat makes you stand out:

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the companys good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
