Location : RemoteTravel :~25% (customer visits, conferences)Department : Product ManagementReports To : PresidentAbout the Role We are seeking a technically fluent, execution-focused Product Manager to lead product execution and contribute to product direction for Tecplot 360 and FieldView, our CFD visualization and post-processing tools used by engineers and scientists worldwide.This role sits at the center of engineering, sales, support, and our customers. You will translate real-world CFD workflows into clear product requirements, well-formed user stories, and high-quality releases. You will also spend meaningful time with customers to ensure our product direction reflects real market needs.This is a hands-on role. You will work closely with software developers, UX, and documentation to ensure features are not only built, but built correctly, clearly, and in a way that supports engineers' real workflows.We are looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the details, willing to challenge assumptions (including leadership's), and motivated to build great engineering tools for CFD practitioners worldwide.WhatYou'llDo Visit customer sites and conduct remote interviews to understand real-world CFD workflowsIdentify friction points in post-processing, automation, and insight extractionGather and validate feedback on in-progress and upcoming featuresConduct win/loss analysis and collaborate with sales and support to identify trendsRepresent the product at industry events and user meetingsProduct Definition & Execution Translate validated problems into: Clear product requirementsWell-structured user storiesExplicit, testable acceptance criteriaPartner with leadership to refine roadmap priorities based on validated customer needs and technical feasibilityWork closely with engineering to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguityCollaborate with UX to ensure usability and workflow consistencyPartner with documentation to ensure accuracy and clarityValidate delivered functionality against user needs before releaseProduct Direction & Strategic Input Contribute structured customer and market insight to inform roadmap planning for Tecplot 360 and FieldViewProvide thoughtful challenges and alternative perspectives to senior leadership on product decisions within the product line scopeHelp shape positioning and messaging in collaboration with marketingContribute to technical blog posts, webinars, and other customer-facing contentIn the near term, this role will focus heavily on execution excellence across several major initiatives already underway. As domain expertise and organizational trust deepen, the role will increasingly influence broader product direction and long‐term roadmap decisions.What We're Looking For Required Master's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field)Hands‐on experience with CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR‐CCM+, OpenFOAM, etc.)Strong understanding of CFD post‐processing workflowsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to translate complex technical workflows into structured requirementsWillingness to travel approximately 25%Preferred Prior experience in product management or product ownershipExperience writing technical content for engineers or scientistsIdeal Candidate Profile Understands CFD deeply but is more excited about building tools than running simulationsComfortable working across engineering, sales, support, and leadershipDetail-oriented and rigorous about acceptance criteria and "definition of done"Not afraid to challenge assumptions with data and structured reasoningPragmatic, curious, and execution-focusedMotivated by long‐term product quality and customer trustCompensation: For candidates based in the Seattle/Bellevue area of Washington State, the base salary range for this role is $115k – $145k per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
