Serving as a member of the Law Library Team, the Library Technical Assistant will work regular hours at the circulation, maintain library resources, and assist with copy cataloguing and the processing of library materials. In alignment with , the Library Assistant will promote a people-centered, high-performing and relationship-rich culture of inclusive excellence.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:Copy cataloguingChecking in serialsProcess, shelve, and as necessary, claim law library materialsWork regularly scheduled hours at the circulation deskLibrary collection and stacks maintenance, including shelf-readingMaintenance of library equipment including printers, copiers, and microform reader/printersInterlibrary loansElectronic records maintenanceStudy room reservationsAssist with managing up-to-date patron recordsAssist in maintenance and revision of policy and procedure manualsProvides back-up when needed for receiving, sorting, and processing incoming campus mailMaintains a collaborative work environment and works well with othersOther duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role include: Familiarity with copy cataloguing and serial check-in proceduresMS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Familiarity with use of online library databases preferredFamiliarity with use of office equipment including shredder, copier, printer, scanner, and microform reader/printers preferredFamiliarity with WMS ILS or other ILS preferredFamiliarity with use of an automated postage meter machineSupport the University's in their role.Required Qualifications: This position requires: High school diploma/GED required.Should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong customer service skills.Ability to work as a positive team player.Good organization skills, flexibility, the ability to multi-task, sound judgment and a high level of interpersonal skills are required.Must be detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.Flexibility to work outside the normal assigned schedule when requested.Desire to join a distinct university community committed to inclusive excellence, kindness, and collaboration, as it seeks to move Forward Together in making our community and world a better place. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: The ideal candidate's qualifications include: Additional undergraduate education is a plus.Academic or public library experience preferred.Work Environment: Work duties performed primarily in temperature-controlled environment; some customer interaction. Bending, twisting, reaching, and stooping. Lifting occasionally up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
