The ideal candidate is someone who understands insurance sales, communicates clearly and professionally, and is motivated by both base compensation and performance-based commission.This is a sales-first role, not a customer support position. Success in this role will depend heavily on follow-up discipline, pipeline management, strong communication, and the ability to convert opportunities into written premium.Key ResponsibilitiesLead Management & Pipeline Follow-UpWork leads provided by the agency through the CRM.Proactively follow up with prospects by phone, email, and text when appropriate.Re-engage older leads, x-dated leads, and previous inquiries that have gone untouched.Make outbound sales calls consistently when there are no scheduled appointments.Build and maintain a healthy personal sales pipeline.Track follow-ups and ensure no quality opportunity slips through the cracks.Quoting & SalesGenerate accurate insurance quotes for prospects.Present policy recommendations based on customer needs and goals.Explain coverage options clearly and confidently.Handle objections professionally and guide prospects toward a buying decision.Close policies and generate written premium consistently.Ask for referrals and create opportunities for cross-selling additional products.Client Relationship ManagementBuild strong trust-based relationships with clients.Deliver excellent customer experience throughout the sales process.Maintain client retention through professional communication and follow-up.Foster long-term product loyalty and relationship growth.CRM & DocumentationUse Agency MVP CRM to manage pipeline activity, notes, follow-ups, and client records.Maintain clean, organized, and up-to-date CRM records.Document quote activity, follow-up attempts, and sales outcomes accurately.Professional DevelopmentStay current on underwriting guidelines, rating requirements, product offerings, and compliance.Participate in coaching, team meetings, and continuing education.Continuously improve product knowledge, communication skills, and closing ability.RequirementsNon-NegotiableActive Texas Property & Casualty General Lines License (mandatory).Candidates with only a Personal Lines license will not qualify, as this license does not allow full selling access within Farmers systems.Ability to legally write and sell policies in Texas.Strong verbal English communication skills.Must be clearly understood by customers over the phone.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented.Comfortable handling rejection and staying persistent.Strong sense of urgency and ownership.Able to work independently without constant supervision.PreferredActive Life & Health Insurance License (strong plus, not required).Previous insurance sales experience (Auto / Home / Life preferred).Experience with quote generation and policy presentation.Experience using insurance CRMs such as Agency MVP.Strong outbound calling / lead follow-up experience.Compensation StructureBase Salary$2,000 USD/monthCommissionRepresentative must first generate $20,000 in written premium in a month.Once they reach $20,001+, they earn 4% commission on total premium sold, not just the amount above the threshold.Example:Premium sold: $25,000Base salary: $2,000Commission: 4% of $25,000 = $1,000Total monthly earnings: $3,000Performance ExpectationsRamp-up period expected during the first 1–2 months.By approximately month 3, representative should be consistently working toward minimum production goals.Baseline goal: $20,000+ monthly written premiumStrong performers are expected to exceed baseline and maximize commission upside.Ideal CandidateThis person is:Licensed and ready to sell immediately.Strong on the phone.Comfortable building rapport quickly.Organized in follow-up.Sales-minded and commission motivated.Professional, dependable, and consistent.Able to convert leads into written premium through strong relationship-based selling.
