Company DescriptionColare is an AI-powered hiring platform designed for hardtech teams in industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and defense. By leveraging simulations that replicate real engineering workflows, Colare enables companies to evaluate talent based on practical skills, ensuring an efficient and precise hiring process. With features like stack-ranked scoring, specialized workflows, and integrated scheduling, Colare helps organizations recruit top talent with confidence and measurable improvements in hiring outcomes.Role DescriptionYou'll be defining and building the technical assessment content that powers Colare's platform. That means scoping the EE skills to be evaluated, designing schematic and PCB-based tasks in KiCad and Altium, and creating the rubrics and correctness criteria used to score candidate submissions. You'll also review and label real candidate work - schematics, PCB files, simulations - and collaborate closely with AI engineers to translate your engineering judgment into structured training data.Job ResponsibilitiesDefine foundational EE skills and coverage areas to be assessed (circuit analysis, analog/digital design, embedded interfaces, power)Design schematic and PCB-based assessment tasks using KiCad and Altium that reflect real engineering workflowsBuild circuit simulations covering design, debugging, component selection, and system behaviorCreate deterministic scoring rubrics and electrical correctness criteriaReview and label candidate submissions including schematics, PCB files, and simulation outputsCollaborate with AI engineers to encode electrical reasoning into structured training labelsValidate model scoring behavior against human judgmentQualificationsStrong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentalsProfessional experience with KiCad, Altium, or equivalent ECAD toolsFamiliarity with PCB workflows and circuit simulation toolsAbility to formalize engineering judgment into deterministic evaluation rulesComfort working with structured data formats (JSON, metadata-driven workflows)Strong written technical communication for question authoring and rubric design
