67. Engineer Technician IV (Available Now)
Description:
Engineering Support and Maintenance Engineering:
The Engineering Tech IV is responsible for all levels of maintenance during the life cycle of supported systems. Many of these systems are Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) Systems.
Responsibilities include:
Maintain and update current concepts, tasks, and criteria for all levels of maintenance during the system’s life cycle
Assist design team to perform, prepare, review, analyze, and modify system designs, technical documents, manuals, and data packages
Assist with engineering analysis, designing solutions to system obsolete hardware, and provide appropriate documentation and drawings as necessary
Perform on-site technical assists, Casualty Reporting (CASREP) support, and System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT)
Provide technical and engineering services including corrective maintenance actions
Perform several test and evaluation assignments
Provide Fleet Technical Sustainment Support (TSS) to end users
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in an Engineering, Scientific or related field with 2 years of recent experience or Four (4) years of relevant experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing C4I electronic equipment
Experience preparing technical reports/documentation using word processing or desktop publishing capabilities
Domestic and international travel is required (about 2 to 4 trips per year)
Able to work in constrained spaces such as Naval Ships and lift up to 50lbs*
Be a self-starter and able to work unsupervised*
Able to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively*
Have a strong work ethic and able to remain proactive*
Desired Qualifications:
Security+ CE Certification or other IAT Level 2
Knowledgeable with Red Hat Enterprise Linus (RHEL) 6 or newer
Experience working aboard Naval Bases and Ships
Familiar with Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES)
