Java Engineer
Job Summary for Java Engineer (9+ Years Exp) Design, build, troubleshoot, and support secure, high-quality production software across backend, frontend, cloud native, and automation domains. Hands-on application development with an emphasis on operational stability, microservices, CI/CD, resiliency, and security. Develop secure, scalable, and production-ready code; review, debug, and enhance code written by peers. Identify and automate remediation of recurring technical issues to improve system reliability and operational stability. Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. Establish and enforce validation standards for AI-assisted engineering, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing. Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including automation and AI-assisted development, to maximize automation benefits. Lead technical evaluations with vendors, startups, and internal teams, assessing architecture and integration with existing systems. Lead and participate in engineering communities of practice to promote adoption of new and leading-edge technologies. Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors. Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes. Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more technical areas and advocate for firmwide frameworks and SDLC practices. Contribute to an inclusive and diverse engineering culture. Operate as both a hands-on engineer and technical leader across development, troubleshooting, automation, and governance. Support modernization and reliability efforts for backend, frontend, microservices, cloud native infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines. Engage with various stakeholders for architecture evaluation and technical decision-making. Promote reuse of proven patterns, automation, and engineering best practices across teams. Coach and mentor engineers, including on safe and compliant AI-assisted software development practices. Ensure compliance with responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, and security standards.Technical Stack/Requirements Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra/NoSQL, and one or more frontend frameworks (React, Angular, NodeJS, etc.). Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, Kafka, and integration frameworks. Familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Karma, Jasmine, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.). Practical experience with automation, continuous delivery, and agile methodologies. Cloud native experience, preferably AWS. Strong understanding of application resiliency, security, and SDLC best practices. Experience in financial services technology environments (preferred).
