Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler
Position OverviewCCG is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler to join our team. This position is central to our operations, responsible for creating and managing manufacturing schedules that optimize resource utilization while ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) to our customers. You will work in a collaborative environment with our manufacturing and sales teams, managing a diverse portfolio of manufacturing modalities in a job-shop setting.Company InformationWe are a mid-sized, family-owned machine shop with 70 employees. We specialize in precision manufacturing services including milling, turning, swiss lathes, deburring, and lab/cleanroom work mainly serving the medical sector. We also leverage outside services such as plating, heat treatment, and grinding to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers.Key ResponsibilitiesUse existing scheduling methodology to create and modify manufacturing plans, timelines, resource usage, and utilization to ensure on-time delivery across the organizationRegularly modify manufacturing plans to reflect changes in customer demand and requirementsEscalate concerns about on-time delivery performance and resource utilization to enable timely adjustments to staffing levels or customer deliveriesCreate material pull requests and track their status to ensure all required inputs for manufacturing plans are resolved on timeInterface daily with the manufacturing manager to ensure adequacy and appropriateness of the manufacturing planMaintain status and accuracy of manufacturing plans and associated data systemsGenerate and issue manufacturing travelers using our ERP systemInterface with inside sales to maintain accurate lead times and communicate schedule impactsMaintain accuracy of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventoryReview open sales orders to determine customer requirements and communicate any schedule impacts proactivelyCoordinate with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules in response to supply chain changes or production challengesMaintain data relevant to production scheduling activities, including planning calendars, material data, and location dataRequired QualificationsManufacturing experience from a job-shop background or other technical, high-mix manufacturing environmentExperience with manufacturing scheduling and familiarity with scheduling methodologiesComfortable and proficient with ERP systemsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detailExcellent organizational and time-management skillsStrong problem-solving aptitude and ability to identify and address potential bottlenecksExcellent communication, written, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and make well-formed, rational decisionsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentNice-to-Have QualificationsISO 9001 quality management system experienceSupplier management and vendor relationship experienceAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&TAPICS certifications (CPIM or CSCP)Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
