Solutions Engineer

Job Position:Electrical EngineerLocation: Houston, TX (Hybrid)Duration: Full-TimeRole OverviewDesign and develop distributed generation and microgrid power solutions for industrial, utility, commercial, and data center customers. Work directly with customers to create reliable, cost-effective, and deployable power infrastructure solutions from concept through project handoff.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop distributed generation and microgrid solutions.Lead customer discussions to understand technical requirements, reliability goals, and site constraints.Design medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including single-line diagrams and system layouts.Evaluate load requirements, generation sizing, reliability targets, and future expansion needs.Collaborate with engineering, EPC, product, and commercial teams to deliver executable solutions.Prepare technical proposals, presentations, and project documentation.Conduct site visits and assess field conditions.Analyze trade-offs between cost, schedule, reliability, and constructability.Support project transition from proposal stage to execution.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.2+ years of experience in power systems, distributed generation, microgrids, utility infrastructure, or related fields.Experience with electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.Knowledge of load flow, short circuit, protection, and reliability studies.Proficiency with tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, PSS/E, MATLAB/Simulink, AutoCAD, or similar.Understanding of utility interconnection, switchgear, protection systems, generators, DERs, and microgrid architectures.Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
