Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Switchgear Dallas–Fort Worth, TXMy client is a leading electromechanical and power management services provider, supporting critical infrastructure across North America and the UK. They are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.About the RoleA hands-on senior position focused on the design and delivery of LV and MV power distribution equipment. switchboards, switchgear, MCCs and integrated power skids. You'll own projects from concept through commissioning, working alongside a collaborative team on high-impact work for clients across energy, manufacturing, healthcare and municipal sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end design of LV/MV equipment including UL 891 switchboards, UL 1558 switchgear, MV switchgear (5kV–38kV), and MCCs with VFDs and soft starters.Produce construction-ready documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 or AutoCAD Electrical, SLDs, control schematics, wiring schedules, and point-to-point interconnection mapsDevelop 3D mechanical models in SolidWorks or AutoCAD 3D covering busbar routing, enclosure design, and thermal managementPerform short-circuit analysis, arc flash mitigation design, and selective coordination studies in line with NEC, NFPA 70E, UL and IEEE standardsReview and redline junior engineers drawings, finalise BOMs and manage component lead timesDevelop FAT procedures and provide on-site or remote testing supportMentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesSkills & Experience8+ years in electrical power distribution and control equipment designStrong knowledge of LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, and MCCsProficient in EPLAN Electric P8 or AutoCAD Electrical; SolidWorks or AutoCAD 3D advantageousSolid grasp of NEC, NFPA 70E, and relevant UL/IEEE standardsExperience with protective relaying (SEL, Multilin) and instrument transformersBSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) or PE licence highly desirableStrong communicator, comfortable with both technical and non-technical audiencesWillingness to travel up to 50%
