ControllerReports to: Chief Financial OfficerCompany: Private Equity backed construction technology company This is a hands-on Controller opportunity with full ownership of the accounting function at a growing organization. The role sits at a pivotal stage of the company’s lifecycle, stable and supported operations that are primed to build and scale with a strong financial backing, and a clear long-term growth trajectory, including a future liquidity event.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & FinanceAdminister and maintain the ERP system (QuickBooks Online)Own the full accounting cycle, including month-end closePrepare and review accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, fixed assets, and depreciation/amortizationManage bank accounts, cash controls, and payment workflows (ACH, check, wire)Oversee accounts receivable, including billing (recurring and non-recurring), collections, and cash applicationOversee accounts payable, including vendor issue resolution, purchase order compliance, and 1099 reportingManage capital expenditure tracking, purchase orders, and project-level accountingAudit, Tax & ComplianceServe as primary point of contact for auditors and manage audit requests and follow-upsSupport income tax processes in coordination with external advisorsManage property tax administration and related consultantsEnsure compliance with required regulatory, franchise, gross receipts, and other statutory filingsMonitor filing deadlines, submission methods, and payment executionPayroll, HR & BenefitsServe as primary payroll administrator, including related reporting and trackingAdminister employee benefits programs and vendor relationshipsSupport benefits compliance reporting (e.g., annual filings)Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and equipment provisioningSupport employee handbook updates and expense/T&E policy administrationOperations & SystemsOversee insurance policies and compliance documentationLead software evaluation, implementation, and optimization effortsAct as internal administrator for collaboration tools and liaison to third-party IT vendorsSupport process improvements across accounting, finance, and administrative workflowsRequired BackgroundExperienced accounting leader with 8+ years of experience with full-cycle responsibilityAdvanced accounting degree and CPA preferred Strong experience with QuickBooks OnlineExposure to payroll and HR administrationHigh level of compliance awareness, including regulatory and statutory filingsExperience opening and managing bank accounts and payment controlsComfortable operating independently in a lean, fast-growing environment
