Job DescriptionThe Opportunity – Health FacilitatorPost location: Gaza Field Office - Deir Al-Balah and Khan Younis and subject to change based on SC priorities and needs.Contract Duration and Level of Effort: Until end of May 2026 with possibility of extension.Role PurposeThe Health Facilitator will support the delivery of primary healthcare services within Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) operated by Save the Children International (SCI). The role focuses on implementing health-related activities, supporting patient engagement, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of healthcare services.The facilitator will work closely with health teams to assist in the provision of basic health education, patient flow management, and community outreach activities. They will provide technical and operational support to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and in line with SCI standards and protocols.Key responsibilities include supporting health awareness sessions, assisting in communication between patients and healthcare providers, and contributing to the organization of health campaigns and activities within the PHCCs. The Health Facilitator will also play a role in collecting basic data, supporting monitoring and evaluation processes, and ensuring accurate documentation of activities.Additionally, the role involves coordinating with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations, maintaining a safe and organized environment, and supporting outreach efforts to increase community access to health services.All staff are required to adhere to Save the Children International’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding, child protection, and accountability standards.Scope Of RoleReports to: GazaHealth Officer.Staff reporting to this post: None.Budget Responsibilities: None.Key Areas Of AccountabilityRepresent Save the Children professionally while engaging with patients, caregivers, and community members. Support the delivery of basic health services and health education activities within PHCCs in coordination with medical staff. Assist healthcare providers in organizing patient flow, registration, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the facility. Provide health awareness sessions to patients and caregivers on key topics such as hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and maternal and child health. Collaborate with the health team to identify community health needs and support the development of appropriate response activities. Monitor patients need and provide guidance or referrals to appropriate services within the PHCC or external partners when necessary. Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all patients, with special attention to children and vulnerable groups. Adhere to and promote child safeguarding, protection standards, and confidentiality of patient information always. Identify challenges in service delivery and work with the health team to address them effectively. Support coordination with community stakeholders to enhance access to health services and community outreach efforts. Assist in maintaining accurate records and databases while ensuring data protection and confidentiality. Contribute to documenting success stories, case studies, and lessons learned from project implementation. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of coordinated work plans.Ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency anywhere in OPT.QualificationsIn order to be successful, you will bring/have:University degree in Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related health fieldExperience And SkillsAt least two years of experience working in healthcare settings, preferably in primary healthcare or community health programs. Experience in delivering health education and awareness sessions to diverse community groups.Previous experience working with children and vulnerable populations is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in community outreach, patient engagement, or health promotion activities is an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage and handle a complex and varied workload.Ability to contribute to a small team, motivate staff, work collaboratively with colleagues, and provide support and advice as needed.Willingness and ability to significantly adjust working hours and collaborate with emergency teams coming from outside the sector.Cooperate as needed with organization staff, both internationally and within the team environment.Understand and commit to Save the Children’s vision and mission.Ability to read and understand simple guidelines, short correspondence, and memos.Commitment to Save the Children’s values.Ability to communicate in Arabic.Ability to use minimum level of English.We offer a competitive package in the context of the sector.
