Data Center Cable Technician
Data Center Technician (Cabling Focus) Location: Leesburg, VA Overview We are seeking a Data Center Technician with a strong focus on structured cabling to support large-scale data center buildouts in the Leesburg, VA market. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced environment, supporting the installation and infrastructure build of critical data center systems.This position is ideal for candidates with at least 1 year of commercial cabling or data center experience who are looking to grow within the data center industry. Key Responsibilities Install, route, and terminate structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic)Pull and dress fiber and copper cables throughout the data centerLabel, test, and document cable installations and network connectionsInstall cable trays, pathways, and supportsTerminate low-voltage devices and assist with network hardware installs (switches, servers, racks)Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and project documentationMaintain proper cable management and adhere to quality standardsFollow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements while working in a construction/data center environment Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in structured cabling, data center work, or low-voltage installationExperience pulling and routing cable in commercial or industrial environmentsBasic understanding of fiber and copper cabling standardsAbility to use hand and power toolsComfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in physically demanding environmentsStrong work ethic, reliability, and attendance Preferred Qualifications Experience working in data centers or large-scale construction sitesFamiliarity with cable testing tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.)Understanding of color codes and structured cabling standards Work Environment Data center construction and operational environmentPhysically demanding role (standing, lifting, climbing)PPE required (hard hat, vest, gloves, eye protection, steel toe boots)Team-oriented, fast-paced setting Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leesburg, VA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
