Job: AI Architect – SecurityLocation: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)Employment Type: Contract / C2CLevel: Senior / PrincipalJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced AI Architect – Security to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide security architectures for AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI platforms. The ideal candidate will define secure AI reference architectures, establish governance standards, and provide technical leadership to ensure the safe and scalable adoption of AI technologies across cloud, on-premises, and SaaS environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine enterprise AI security architectures, standards, and best practices.Lead security architecture reviews for AI/ML initiatives and vendor solutions.Design guardrails, human-in-the-loop controls, output validation, and least-privilege access models for AI applications.Ensure AI security controls are embedded across cloud, on-prem, and SaaS AI deployments.Evaluate emerging AI security threats and recommend mitigation strategies.Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams.Mentor engineering teams on secure AI design and implementation.Support AI governance initiatives aligned with NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and OWASP LLM Top 10 frameworks.Required Skills12+ years of Security Architecture or Enterprise Architecture experience.Strong knowledge of AI/ML ecosystems, MLOps, model lifecycle security, and AI governance.Experience securing Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions.Expertise in Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, or GCP).Strong understanding of IAM, Zero Trust, Network Segmentation, and Data Protection.Experience with AI governance frameworks including:NIST AI RMFISO/IEC 42001OWASP Top 10 for LLM ApplicationsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Preferred QualificationsCISSP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent certifications.Experience building or securing enterprise AI/ML platforms.Retail or large consumer-focused industry experience.
