District Leader In Training
The District Leader in Training's responsibility is to enhance and develop their skills to successfully lead, plan, organize, and control the activities in preparation for a promotion to District Leader. Although assigned to a specific location and serving primarily as a Store Leader, they will often be called upon to cover District Leader vacations, gaining invaluable experience as they prepare for promotion to District Leader.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccountable to achieve financial operating plan to include controllable costs, sales projections, and operating profit for districtResponsible for operational systems and procedures designed to effect control of the stores costs, shrink and expensesHold management accountable to utilizes company systems and procedures designed to control expenses and manage inventoryMaintain budget targets with shrink, labor, supplies, cash and lotteryHold store leaders to follow a labor budget specific to each store based on established labor model, sales history and current trendsComplete daily, weekly and monthly reports as required for position; analyzes the details to identify trendsMaintain communication with field operations and managementSpeak honesty and act with integrity at all timesEarn the trust of others through open, honest communication and follow throughAct as company representative at all times and is perceived as being a positive moral force, as judged by peers and subordinatesProvide "added value" to the store through building relationships, supervising, coaching, and mentoring of staffLead by example by acknowledging and greeting all customers as they enter the storeCoach store leadership and employees on how to properly handle customer complaints and provide exceptional levels of serviceSupport the team with a hands-on management style and lead with a sense of urgency and purposeAdhere to company safety and security practices at all timesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Able to provide excellence in service; perform basic mathematical calculations, read and write, understand and follow general instructionsMust be detail-oriented and accurateMust have good interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task effectively in a busy environmentResponsible, dependable, and adaptable to changeDistrict Leaders are scheduled a variable five-day work week, or as business necessitatesEducation and RequirementsRequired:Associates or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMust maintain a current, valid, unrestricted driver's license with an insurable driving recordCurrent ServSafe CertificationSuccessful completion of age restricted alcohol and tobacco sales trainingSuccessful completion of UST TrainingPreferred:* Minimum of 5+ years multi-unit retail experience, convenience store experience preferred; or a minimum of 5+ years of store management experience within Parker'sGeneral Working Conditions:The characteristics described here are representative of those employees who encounter while performing the essential functions of the food service position.
