This full-time, field-based role offers variety and independence, has long-term career potential, and supports mission-critical broadband technology.Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Fiber Optic Splicer to support a major provider of Ethernet, Internet, and VoIP services. This role is suited to experienced fiber professionals skilled in splicing, OTDR testing, and troubleshooting in both indoor and outdoor environments. If you take pride in delivering high-quality installations and diagnostics with technical accuracy and safety, this opportunity is for you.Responsibilities:Perform fiber splicing, terminations, and OTDR testing in various environments.Drive a company vehicle to work sites while maintaining compliance with safety policies.Use tools such as fusion splicers, power meters, OTDRs, and traffic meters effectively and safely.Complete and submit job documentation, including work orders, splice audits, and materials used.Read and interpret maps to plan and execute work efficiently within deadlines.Track and report on project elements including outages, time, materials, and labor.Coordinate customer access and building entry when required.Maintain accurate equipment logs and ensure company property is safeguarded.Ensure the quality of all work performed aligns with technical standards.Troubleshoot and validate fiber routes using OTDR traces and related tools.Perform other field-related duties as assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required.Minimum two years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing or equivalent training.Proficient in splicing ribbon and loose tube fiber cables and performing mid-sheath splices.Skilled in the use of fiber tools, including OTDRs, power meters, and splicing equipment.Able to read splicing documentation and interpret route maps.Must provide personal hand tools.Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under company policy.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Flexible availability, including 24/7 as needed.Proficient in English, both written and verbal.Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
