Renewables Project Engineer

The company maintains headquarters in the U.S. with additional offices in multiple domestic and international locations.As the Project Engineer, you will:Review 30%, 90%, and As‑built/IFC engineering drawing packages across electrical, civil, structural, and communications disciplines.Assess technical documentation (contracts, equipment specifications, warranties, electrical and thermal studies, etc.) during due diligence and construction phases.Review critical project documents including geotechnical reports, environmental assessments, wetlands evaluations, interconnection agreements, system‑impact studies, hydrology analyses, and corrosion reports throughout the project‑engineering cycle.Perform engineering calculations (NEC maximum system voltage, conductor sizing, OCPD sizing, utility disconnect requirements, voltage‑drop, conduit sizing).Prepare value‑engineering analyses and risk assessments.Review and design optimized solar PV systems, including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground‑mount systems (fixed‑tilt and single‑axis trackers).Direct and interact with third‑party engineering providers, Owner's Engineers, and EPC partners and oversee their development of IFC drawing sets.Review energy‑estimate modeling (e.g., PVSYST) and identify discrepancies.Support technical RFI and change‑order evaluations.Coordinate with equipment vendors on all technical aspects of project‑critical equipment.Support commissioning of newly constructed sites.Enforce installation quality and company standards on new builds.Capture lessons learned from due diligence, project engineering, and asset‑management interactions and update internal design standards.Maintain relationships with key equipment suppliers and routinely assess new product offerings.Identify and evaluate technical‑improvement opportunities in collaboration with asset‑management, technical‑operations, and other internal teams.Support PMO functions by developing and improving technical processes.Ideal Candidate Qualifications:3+ years of solar‑engineering experience, preferably with utility‑scale projects.Bachelor's degree in engineering (Master's preferred).Strong understanding of renewable‑energy engineering documentation.Familiarity with key project‑related documents, agreements, and permits.Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, PlantPredict, Helioscope, Excel, Word, and Smartsheet.Excellent organization and multitasking ability.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven problem‑solving ability and persistence on challenging projects.Demonstrated process‑improvement mindset.High ethical standards and commitment to quality.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Skilled at communicating with tact and professionalism.Benefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance beginning the first of the month after hire.Paid time off, paid holidays, and floating holidays.401(k) program with competitive employer match.Hybrid work model with a "work‑from‑anywhere" allocation.Parental leave benefits.
