Position: Metallurgical Engineering SuperintendentLocation: Lancaster, PA (100% Onsite)Job Type: Full-TimeThe Metallurgical Engineering Superintendent provides plant-wide leadership and technical expertise in metallurgical engineering. This role is responsible for overseeing product metallurgy, driving quality standards, leading new product development, and managing the metallurgical engineering team.The position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, resolving customer issues, and improving manufacturing processes while aligning with organizational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & MetallurgyLead metallurgical practices and product availability standardsDevelop and maintain product specifications and metallurgical documentationProvide technical guidance on production processes and inspection requirementsSupport qualification of new materials (slab, reroll, hardeners, etc.)New Product DevelopmentLead new product development initiativesConduct technical reviews of trial and availability requestsCollaborate with production teams to introduce new productsQuality & ComplianceOversee disposition of non-conforming materialsLead root cause analysis and corrective actionsMonitor product capability and drive continuous improvementParticipate in internal/external quality auditsTeam LeadershipSupervise metallurgical engineers and techniciansCoach and mentor team membersSet performance goals aligned with business objectivesEnsure adherence to company values and policiesCustomer InteractionProvide technical support to customersResolve product-related claimsTravel to customer locations when requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or Materials ScienceMinimum 5+ years of manufacturing quality experienceMinimum 3+ years of supervisory experiencePreferred Qualifications10+ years of manufacturing quality experienceExperience in aluminum rolling and metallurgyExperience in ISO9001 or IATF 16949 environmentsStrong analytical and data analysis skills (Minitab, AS400, MS Office)Excellent communication and leadership skillsRequired SkillsStrong metallurgical and materials engineering expertiseLeadership and team managementProblem-solving and root cause analysisCustomer interaction and technical communicationContinuous improvement mindset
