Position Summary:
Responsible for shipping, receiving, inventory and materials control of the warehouse. This includes daily movement of materials in/out of the warehouse and company complex. Receives daily incoming deliveries and validates contents before distributing where needed. Prepares items for shipment in accordance with applicable company, customer, or project specific packing requirements. Pulls items needed for sales or production orders and delivers/coordinates deliveries to production areas where required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Receives incoming orders
Validates items and counts of incoming orders against vendor delivery tickets or packing slips
Moves applicable incoming items with move tickets to QC for incoming inspection if required
Pulls inventory items for customer orders
Pulls inventory items for production work orders
Maintains job shelves for items/work orders not immediately shipping or going into production
Directly moves or assists in movement of materials from warehouse to production areas where needed
Prepares products for shipment according to company, customer, or product specific packing plan requirements
May receives items in MRP system (Glovia) directly to generate move tickets or forwards incoming paperwork to warehouse manager or assigned control group for receiving in system
May assist in applicable departments of material arrival notifications.
Aides with scheduling shipping carriers (UPS, FEDEX, SAIA, Hotshot couriers) utilizing shipping procedures, routes, and rate considerations in accordance with customer purchase order or project requirements
Other Duties And Responsibilities:
Maintains inventory of supplies for shipping and receiving area.
Loads and/or unloads trucks as necessary.
Prepares crates and/or boxes as necessary.
Assists with printing of shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
Ensures items for inventory and sales/production needs are properly identified with part numbers
Package products for return to vendors/customers and fills out any RMA paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up.
Helps maintain accuracy of inventory
Performs inventory checks and cycle counts as directed by warehouse supervisor or accounting
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualification Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
1 (one) year of shipping/receiving experience preferred
Ability to learn MRP system is preferred. Experience using Glovia is a plus.
Ability to understand OSHA safety rules for warehouse work
Forklift certification required
Work overtime as needed to support shipments and sales
Basic mathematical skills
Good communication skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Overhead crane operation experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, sitting, climbing etc.
Prolonged standing
Use of a computer and other office equipment (scanner, printer, etc.)
Lift up to 50 pounds
Able to work in non-air-conditioned atmosphere for warehouse and outdoor environment
