CNC Lathe/Mill Setup Technician

We are looking for a CNC setup person who would be able to set up CNC programs on CNC Mills and Lathes and help manage the CNC department. At the minimum, we are looking for someone who is able to set tools and do tool offsets. We will give more in-depth training by our head CNC machinist on learning programming and full machine set up and programming if necessary. Responsibilities Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the set-up of a job Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc. Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects Keep records of approved and defective units or final products Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Skills Proven experience as a setup machinist Experience in using semi-automated or automated tools and machines (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, etc.) Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Good at math with analytical abilities Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Schedule: 8 hour shift Experience: Machine Setup: 3 years (Preferred) Language: Spanish (Preferred) Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Work Location: In person
