Senior System Administrator / DevOps Engineer

We is seeking an experienced System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to manage and maintain the company's software development, build, and IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for administering the enterprise software stack, supporting automated software builds and releases, securing corporate infrastructure, managing developer environments, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of company systems.The ideal candidate has experience supporting Java-based enterprise software development environments, Git-based CI/CD pipelines, Microsoft Windows administration, network security, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, and endpoint management.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development InfrastructureAdminister and maintain software development environments supporting Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript for two proprietary software platforms.Manage Git repositories, branching strategies, and automated build processes.Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for software builds and releases.Support build automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, npm, Node.js, and related technologies.Manage application servers, databases, and supporting middleware used throughout the development lifecycle.Coordinate software release packaging, version management, and deployment activities.Monitor build environments to ensure reliability, repeatability, and performance.Systems AdministrationAdminister Windows servers supporting corporate and development environments.Maintain Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and related enterprise services.Configure and maintain virtualized environments and cloud infrastructure as required.Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability.Perform operating system upgrades, software patching, and infrastructure maintenance.Security AdministrationManage corporate cybersecurity controls and security monitoring.Administer firewalls, endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication (MFA), VPNs, and identity management.Monitor security alerts, vulnerabilities, and system logs.Coordinate vulnerability remediation and security patch management.Implement security best practices for development, production, and corporate environments.Manage user accounts, permissions, and privileged access controls.Endpoint ManagementBuild, configure, deploy, and maintain employee laptops and workstations.Develop and maintain standardized desktop images.Manage software deployment and endpoint configuration.Support remote employees with secure access and device management.Maintain hardware inventory and lifecycle management.Backup and Disaster RecoveryDesign and manage backup strategies for servers, source code repositories, databases, and business systems.Regularly test backup restoration procedures.Support disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.Ensure compliance with company retention policies.Network AdministrationMonitor and maintain corporate network infrastructure.Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and security issues.Maintain wireless networking, VPN connectivity, switches, routers, and firewall configurations.Coordinate with Internet and cloud service providers when necessary.Documentation and Process ImprovementMaintain infrastructure documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.Recommend improvements to infrastructure, security, deployment processes, and system reliability.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.5+ years of systems administration experience.Experience supporting enterprise software development organizations.Strong knowledge of: Java development environments, JavaScript and TypeScript build environments, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, Windows Server administration, Linux administration, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365 AdministrationExperience with: Maven and/or Gradle, Node.js and npm, Docker and containerized deployments, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar build systems, Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.), SQL databasesExperience administering backup and disaster recovery solutions.Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and switching.Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting enterprise SaaS or software product companies.Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks including NIST or CIS Controls.Experience with vulnerability management tools and endpoint security platforms.Scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.Knowledge of software licensing and release management.Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, Microsoft Security, or similar) are a plus.Azure, AWS, VMware, Microsoft, or Red Hat certifications are desirable.
