2nd Shift – CNC Operator
Job Description
Works Monday – Friday 2:30 pm to 11 am.
Starting at $19.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential with no CNC experience but with mechanical and computer experience. Ability to increase as you learn more of the position.
Summary (Position Description): CNC Operators must have the necessary skills to set up, operate, and maintain multi-axis machining centers, along with finished part inspection.
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
Status: Full time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Duties & Tasks
Follow production plan from shift supervisor or department manager
Operate forklift, as required
Perform material movement of raw material to machine
Load/unload material into designated machines
Clean machined parts after machining cycle is completed
Press bushing into machined parts using bushing press
Perform Lean Proces, 5S cleaning and TPM tasks and sign off daily
Enter machining output into OEE database
Follow safety requirements
Initiate defect card and maintenance work orders when required.
Dump chip containers when required
Use scroll process sheets to determine tool run order and basic tool compensations
Comprehend a scroll inspection report at a basic level: Understand the datum structure and how reference dimensions effect profiles
Set basic tools such as endmills and face mills
Use a profilometer to check surface finish of machined surfaces
Perform other related duties as assigned
Work systematically through product issues with support from shift supervisor and engineering team
Other duties as assigned by management

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Ability to load and unload parts
Ability to efficiently operate CNC machines
Ability to inspect parts on the CMM
Ability to make part to tolerances
Ability to use the OEE database effectively
Knowledge & understanding of BIPROS requirements
Knowledge of safety rules and hazards
Follows cleaning plans for machines and area
Skill in identifying casting defects
Knowledge of Lean processes (CIP)
Requirements:

Mechanically and computer inclined-no machining experience needed.
Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment
Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills
Ability to work collectively with others within the organization
Work Environment:
This job is performed in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee constantly is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis.
