Service Center Technician I

Equipment Management Service and Repair – EMSAR, headquartered in Austin, Texas, is a fast-growing national technical services company providing maintenance, repair and installation services to OEMs in the Healthcare sector.We are seeking an entry-level technician responsible for assisting with the maintenance, cleaning, repair, and refurbishment of various types of vacuum pumps and related equipment. Our company offers a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for growth and professional development.Key ResponsibilitiesHere's a breakdown of common responsibilities and qualifications:Assembly and Disassembly: Disassembling and reassembling vacuum pumps and peripherals as required for cleaning, inspection, and repair.Testing and Inspection: Testing assembled units to ensure they meet specifications and performing visual and measurement inspections.Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including inspection results, parts used, and test data.Preventative Maintenance: Assisting with preventative maintenance tasks on pumps and workshop equipment.Cleaning and Decontamination: Cleaning vacuum pump components using various methods like high-pressure washers, bead blasters, and chemical cleaners.Safety Adherence: Following all safety policies and procedures, including those specific to handling chemicals and operating equipment safely.Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues and other departments as needed. QualificationsQualifications:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in manufacturing and preferably some type of final assembly inspection process. Mechanical Aptitude: A mechanical background is preferred, and the ability to work with hand and power tools is essential. Exhibit the ability to perform activities without constant supervision.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring proper cleaning, assembly, and documentation.Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills are necessary for collaborating with colleagues and understanding instructions.Physical Abilities: The ability to lift and move equipment (often up to 50 pounds) and work in a workshop environment is generally required.Willingness to Learn: Being a self-starter and motivated to learn about different types of vacuum pumps and their operation is important. Nice-to-HavesExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Working knowledge of the vacuum industry.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. This job considered to be generally sedentary although standing for prolonged periods might be required.
