Director of Finance & Reporting

About the roleBeth Ward Studios is a private-label jewelry company, and we are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance & Reporting to streamline, oversee, and execute the company’s day-to-day finance operations and who participates in the company’s strategic planning. This person must be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about leading and developing the current 2 person financial team. Additionally he or she is capable of independently managing core financial responsibilities while reporting clearly and consistently to leadership and broader team.This is a senior executive and operational ownership role requiring strong accountability, follow-through, confidentiality, and communication. We are looking for a structured people oriented person who loves metrics, an entrepreneurial approach and private label jewelry – someone who is ready to hit the ground running and appreciates operating within a fast-paced environment where no day is the same.What you’ll own Finance Operations* Oversee and document daily finance operations and ensure continuity across all finance functions* Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes* Oversee cash flow monitoring and weekly cash reporting* Maintain accurate financial records and transaction processing* Own month-end close process and reconciliation activities* Ensure invoices, payments, approvals, and filings are processed accurately and on time* Maintain organized finance documentation, trackers, and reporting structures* Coordinate with external accountants, banking partners, payroll providers, and consultants* Identify financial risks, operational gaps, and escalation items proactively* Continues process improvement including software integration support*** Particpate in senior leadership meetings** Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralFinancial Reporting & Analysis* Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly financial reporting packages* Own preparation and delivery of:  * Profit & Loss Statements (P&L)  * Balance Sheet reporting  * Cash Flow reporting and forecasting  * Financial Statements  * Track company performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods  * Provide individualized reports for each department  * Provide leadership with visibility into cash position, liabilities, receivables, margins,  and operational financial risks  * Ensure reporting accuracy, timeliness, and consistency  * Support leadership decision-making through clear financial insights and follow-up analysisTeam & Leadership Support* Oversee and manage two full-time team members, providing direction, accountability,  and day-to-day support* Provide clear weekly finance updates to leadership* Maintain visibility around deadlines, approvals, pending payments, and risks* Create structure, accountability, and follow-through within finance operations* Communicate professionally and proactively across departmentsWhat we are looking for* 5+ years in finance, accounting, or payroll operations* Strong understanding of financial reporting and operational finance management* Experience preparing P&Ls, financial statements, and cash flow reporting* Background in a fast-paced entrepreneurial or product-based company* People management or team leadership experience — comfortable directing and supporting  direct reports* Comfort with ERP systems**, payroll platforms, reporting tools, and AI exploration/implementation* Proven ability to work independently and support leadership directly* High ownership mentality, sharp attention to detail under pressure, and discretion  with confidential information** Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralWhat success looks like* Financial reporting is timely, accurate, and actionable* Leadership has clear visibility into company financial performance and cash position* Finance operations remain organized, proactive, and controlled* Risks and issues are identified early and addressed proactively* The company experiences stability, visibility, and continuity at every stage of the company’s growthReporting structureThis role reports directly to company leadership and works cross-functionally with HR, Operations, IT, and external financial partners.How to applyApply directly through LinkedIn, or send your resume and a brief note to mwesterbeek@bethwardstudios.com We review applications on a rolling basis and will reach out to candidates who are a strong fit.About Beth Ward StudiosWe’re a women-led private-label jewelry design company in the heart of New York’s bustling Design District in Chelsea.
