Communications Coordinator
The Rockport Art Association & Museum, a nonprofit organization based in Rockport, MA, seeks an enthusiastic and creative social media/marketing staff person to assist our historic and creative community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization while also gaining professional knowledge of art history, museum operations, and working artists.
We use several social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, to assist us in increasing awareness of our organizational goals, activities, and events. The Communication Coordinator's responsibilities are to understand these goals and assist us in creating original content and growing our audience.
Responsibilities:
Manage the organization’s social media accounts by creating and distributing content through images, infographics, and videos.
Create captivating graphics to share across social accounts.
Write social media captions that speak to organization’s audience.
Brainstorm and research ideas for original content.
Develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
Check social media metrics and report results to Executive Director
Assist with photo/video content creation.
Help design print materials: brochures, flyers etc..
Engage with audience by responding to comments, messages etc.
Schedule/Availability:
8-10 hours/week for a minimum of 16 weeks. Hybrid, with time onsite weekly to film events and content.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of social media platforms.
Should be enrolled in or have recently completed one or more years of college courses in an undergraduate program of studies in communications, history, graphic design, visual art, photography, or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability for independent judgment and decision-making.
Creativity, passion, and humor while also being flexible under pressure.
Tech-savvy. Any experience with Canva, Hootsuite, and/or Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop or InDesign) is a plus.
Ability to work productively and efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.

Hibbard, William Lester Stevens, Theresa Bernstein, and more. Additionally, the RAA&M schedules a number of Special Exhibitions of traveling shows, as well as collector's shows.
