Position Details ●Job Title: Assistant Teacher ●Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday, day shifts only) ●Pay: Starting at $22/hour, based on education and experience ●Location: Woodstock, VT About Rainbow Playschool Rainbow Playschool is a 4-star, state-accredited, community-owned nonprofit Preschool and Licensed Child Care Center with over 40 years of service to the Woodstock community and surrounding villages. We provide high-quality, play-based care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in a supportive, outdoor-focused environment. Our dedicated staff, family-led board, and creative curriculum foster a place where children and teachers can learn, grow, and thrive together. What You’ll Do As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll support our Lead and Associate Teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging classroom that promotes children’s development through play, exploration, and guided learning. Responsibilities include: ●Supporting children’s daily routines and development ●Assisting in creating a warm, stimulating, and safe classroom environment ●Preparing and assisting with snacks and light cleaning duties ●Helping organize materials and support learning activities ●Building relationships with children, families, and staff ●Maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude ●Completing at least 24 hours of professional development annually Who We’re Looking For Our ideal candidate is: ●Caring, dependable, and team-oriented ●Passionate about early childhood development and outdoor learning ●Eager to support both children and fellow educators ●Flexible and energetic with a sense of creativity and fun Preferred Qualifications ●Previous experience working with young children (preferred but not required) ●Completion of (or willingness to complete) a college-level course in Early ChildhoodEducation, Human Growth & Development, or a related field ●If not yet completed, you must enroll in and complete the Fundamentals of Early Childhood Education course within your first year (we offer financial assistance and mentorship) Perks & Benefits ●Paid holidays, vacation days, and sick leave ●Healthcare stipend for full-time employees ●Annual bonuses ●Paid training and support for professional growth ●Discount on childcare at our center ●Child care discount ●No nights or weekends!
