Shady Grove Center For Nursing & Rehabilitation - Shady Grove Center for Nursing & RehabilitationPosition Title: Activities DirectorDepartment: Recreation/ActivitiesStatus: Full-TimeReports To: AdministratorSalary: $55k-$68kPosition SummaryThe Activities Director is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs of residents. This role ensures the delivery of meaningful, person-centered activities that support resident engagement and overall quality of life.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct and document resident activity assessments in accordance with regulatory standards.Develop, update, and maintain individualized activity care plans.Plan, organize, and supervise daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs.Prepare and distribute monthly activity calendars.Coordinate and execute group and individual therapeutic activities.Develop and manage an active volunteer program.Collect resident oral histories, preferences, and background information to support individualized programming.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations related to activities and recreation.Promote resident participation and foster a welcoming, supportive environment.QualificationsMinimum of two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years.At least one (1) year full-time experience in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting.Completion of a state-approved activities training course,OR a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience and willingness to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with residents, families, volunteers, and interdisciplinary team members.
