Director, Accounting Operations

We are looking for an experienced accounting leader to oversee core financial operations in San Francisco, California as a Director of Accounting Operations. This role will guide the close process, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support a well-controlled accounting environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to lead teams through complex audit and reporting requirements. For immediate consideration, please contact Leon Chang directly via Linked-In.Responsibilities:Lead and develop AP/AR teams; drive accountability, service, and continuous improvementSet KPIs/SLAs and manage workloads to meet all deadlinesOversee full P2P cycle (vendors, invoices, payments); ensure timely, accurate paymentsHandle vendor inquiries, train staff on PRs, manage T& E, and 1099 complianceLead O2C cycle (billing, cash app, collections); ensure accurate posting and reconciliationsManage aging, reduce bad debt, and oversee credit/collections policyDrive process improvements and automation; act as ERP SME; maintain controls and proceduresOversee AP/AR close, reconciliations, and journal entriesEnsure GAAP/SOX compliance and support auditsBachelor’s degree in Accounting10+ years accounting experience; 5+ years leading AP/AR teamsStrong P2P and O2C end-to-end knowledgeExperience with process improvements, controls, and system implementationsSolid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and 1099 complianceERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skillsCPA and SOX experience preferredResults-driven leader focused on KPIs and performanceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective cross-functional communicatorAdaptable in fast-paced, changing environmentsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
