Thermal Hydraulics Engineer
In a remote contract role, a Thermal Hydraulics Engineer will develop and validate thermal hydraulic analysis methods to support advanced reactor system design and licensing, while performing reactor transient analyses and assisting with code verification and validation activities.
Key responsibilitiesDevelop system-level thermal hydraulic analysis methods and perform steady-state and transient system-level analyses
Support method qualification through verification and performance characterization, and integrate closure models into existing frameworks
Document modeling methodologies and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure effective integration within plant design workflowsRequired qualificationsDegree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
6+ years of experience in system-level thermal hydraulic modeling and method development for nuclear or energy systems
Experience with thermal hydraulic simulation tools such as RELAP5 3D, GOTHIC, or SAS
Familiarity with scientific programming and workflow automation using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
Understanding of NQA 1 quality assurance practices for modeling workflows
