Intermodal Depot Manager

The Intermodal Depot Manager is responsible for the administrative, asset management, operational, and personnel functions of General Express maintenance shop. Responsibilities include the daily oversight of the maintenance operations, parts, customer service and P/L. The Intermodal Depot Manager will work closely with all Service Supervisors. Job Responsibilities: Direct fleet maintenance and outside repair functions in accordance with all General Express programs and policies Manage equipment downtime to ensure expectation of equipment availability Ensure PM program compliance for all equipment assigned Ensure customer equipment repairs are performed in compliance with designated programs Monitor and manage cost controls for multiple shops Oversite and management of Parts Inventories and shop tooling for multiple locations Effectively communicate with customers, operational teams and senior management Responsible for coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results Manage employee production and shop overtime Perform safety and work quality audits on regular basis Complete other projects and tasks as assigned Contribute to the General Express program by assisting, from time to time, the Director and/or Vice President of Maintenance and other team members, in the development, evaluation and implementation of best practices and policies We adhere to CDC, OSHA, DOT and state and local requirements. Qualifications: Proficient in analytical review of data and cost trends Strong understanding of the Intermodal industry Able to travel as needed on regular basis Strong sense of both Internal and External customer service Proficient in Microsoft Office Experienced with Depot Systems preferred Valid driver's license COMPANY OVERVIEW: General Express is a premier provider of transportation and logistics services.
