Position Type: Middle Level Teacher (Grades 4-8)Location: Greenbrier School DistrictStart Date: 2026-2027 School YearQualifications:Valid Arkansas Teaching License OR willingness to partner with DESE and school district on an alternate route to licensure for one or more of the followi8ng:Literacy/English Language ArtsMathScienceSocial StudiesThe Greenbrier School District is seeking applicants to be active members of our professional learning community and who are interested in living the mission and vision of our school district while committing to our core beliefs:Children come firstThe classroom is the most important place in the districtLeadership and accountability are keys to our success.Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for providing instruction and support designed to prepare students for current and future success.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Consistently uses effective and productive soft skills with all school district stakeholdersReports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.Teaches District approved curriculum daily.Implement school or district curricular goals.Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil daily.Participates in professional development as directed, including but not limited to adult learning around the Science of Reading, differentiation, and job-embedded curriculum developmentImplements the Science of Reading in all instructionProgress monitor students' growth (academic/social/behavior) and report monitoring dataParticipates in the school and district wide Social and Emotional Learning program and initiativesProvides individualized and small group instruction to differentiate for the needs of each student dailyCreate and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive and appropriate to learning in both appearance and activitiesMotivate students to learn.Carries out lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences daily.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of learning objectives and curriculum goals dailyEstablishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc, and communicates these objectives to studentsTakes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities daily.Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere dailyCommunicate with students and parents on student progress on a continuous basisActively participates on content and/or grade level team(s) within the schoolParticipate in collegial and professional activities within the school and DistrictMaintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulationsDevelop and administer content specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levelsInstruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of studyMaintain personal safety of studentsRespond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and /or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.Ensure that substitutes will have all information necessary for effective instructionFollow state, district, and school policies and expectationsOther duties as assigned.Job Contact Information:Name - Dr. Kelli MartinTitle - Deputy SuperintendentPhone - 501.679.4808Email - martink@greenbrierschools.orgSalary Range/Schedule: http://greenbrierschools.org/salaries
