Home Supervisor

Nature of Position: The Home Supervisor is required to perform direct case management duties with foster parents and supervision of foster families in the Foster Care Programs. The Home supervisor will assist in carrying out court adopted treatment plans and orders for families while supporting foster parents with children in care. The Home supervisor will conduct, at minimum, monthly home visits to foster families’ homes, document such visits, prep for staffings, meetings, and/or trainings. The Home Supervisor will be trauma informed and understand the basics of child development. To assist in carrying out court adopted treatment plans for families, while supporting foster parents with children in care. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social work or other behavioral science degree from a regionally accredited university with at least one-year related experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families. Must be able to request an official transcript from the college or university. Must pass a background check, drug screening, physical exam, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, a clean Motor Vehicle Report and the ability to travel on behalf of the agency. Able to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agency's clients and staff. Qualified to complete SAFE Home Studies or being willing to complete the necessary training to become SAFE qualified. Job Expectations/Responsibilities: Assist in the assessment and home studies needed to license a home. Assist in the training of foster parents and certifications. Assist foster parents in working with the Department of Human Services, court, schools and other involved agencies. To attend Family Engagement Meetings, ARD’s, school staffings and court hearings as needed Work on an on-call rotation after hours schedule as needed. Conduct home visits to foster homes as required by the Department of Human Services. Provide written summaries of foster families and foster children’s progress, concerns, barriers, and request as required by the Department of Human Services. Assist foster parents in identifying children they work best with. Advocate for children and families to work toward reunification. Provide support to foster parents. To ensure the foster child’s needs are met while placed in foster care. Collect required documents for foster parent and foster child files. Keep accurate and up to date records of foster parents and foster child(ren) files. To ensure foster parent files and foster child files are maintained as required by the Department of Human Services and the state. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Assist with after-hours crisis management on a rotating basis. Work occasional weekends, holidays and evening hours. Become knowledgeable on Volume VII, especially the area of Foster Care Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate and work effectively with other agencies, community professionals, court systems, the public, foster families, and children. Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize. Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions. Ability to work independently. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Ability to use standard office equipment to include computer/laptop, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Ability to conduct home visits within El Paso County and surrounding Counties as needed. Essential Functions: Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Occasional lifting of files, supplies, children, exerting 20lbs-30lbs occasionally; 10lbs-25lbs frequently or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Reliable transportation is required as you will be utilizing your own registered and insured personal vehicle to transport clients as needed and conduct home visits; mileage reimbursement is available upon request. Pay Rate: $20-$23 hourly non-exempt fulltime.
