Work with a patient volume of approximately 18,774 patients annually, managing a diverse range of emergency cases. The emergency department consists of 12 beds, with 24-hour physician coverage from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. APP coverage is available daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.. Expect to handle an average of 24-26 patients per shift with an admission rate of 8%, a transfer rate of 2.5%, and an AMA rate of 1.2%. Approximately 12.5% of arrivals are via EMS. Work primarily with acuity levels 2-5 in the main emergency department; there is no Fast-Track. Flexible Schedule: The position involves working 12-hour shifts with no inpatient rounding or hospital privileges required. Providers will be needed for 2-3 months to cover shifts while the facility recruits a full-time provider. Technology and Support: The facility uses the Medhost EMR system, which supports efficient and organized patient care management. This is a well-supported role with 24-hour physician coverage, ensuring collaborative teamwork in the emergency department. Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required. Candidates must hold a valid Alabama state license and be board eligible. While ATLS is not required, candidates with minimal work history and no malpractice suits are preferred to facilitate easy credentialing. Credentialing: The estimated credentialing process takes approximately 60 days. Early application is encouraged to meet the start date.
