Production Supervisor (Corrugated)
The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for our Seymour, IN facility. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising employees in the daily routine of producing quality corrugated products in a safe, productive manner with minimum waste as well as cross-training employees in key positions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Maintain quality, efficiencies and production levels set by management
Improve career skills by enrolling in seminars, technical courses and related college courses
Regular and predictable attendance
Report quality concerns to Plant Superintendent or Operations Manager. Assist in determining quality guidelines
Establish high morale within department by showing fairness, consistency and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain inventories of sheets, inks and other converting supplies
Coordinate with Superintendent /Operations Manager and Maintenance on any repairs or preventative maintenance done in department
Enforce corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with violating employees
Communicate with necessary supervision to avoid problems between shift changes
Conduct meetings with crews as needed
Implement, maintain and support all company policies and procedures, including safety programs and good housekeeping
Daily attendance of all employees (full time and temps)
Make sure all crew members are at their job post at the start of their shift and that they report back from breaks and lunch on time
Keep management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your department
Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Ability to work overtime as the job requires
Adhere to production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals
Additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent with related college education or heavy college coursework
Preferred that employees have prior work experience in corrugated industry or other 2-4 years’ work experience.
Computer competence and knowledge of equipment design and capabilities
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
