Lead Baker - Hands-On Production & Team Development Wichita, KS, US $75,000 - $95,000 We are hiring a Lead Baker to oversee scratch baking production, maintain consistency, and help develop strong bakery teams across a growing multi-location operation. This is a hands-on leadership role — ideal for someone who leads from the kitchen, not from an office, and enjoys high-volume production baking. What You'll Do You will lead daily bakery production and ensure consistent execution across locations. Core Responsibilities: * Lead scratch production of bakery items including: * * Donuts * Artisan breads & bagels * Croissants, danish, laminated doughs * Muffins, cookies, brownies, and core bakery items * Ensure consistency in quality across all stores * Train and develop in-store bakery teams * Support standardized recipes and production systems * Improve execution, workflow, and efficiency * Work fully hands-on in daily production (not a desk role) * Help elevate overall bakery performance across the region What We're Looking For * 3-7+ years professional baking experience * Strong background in high-volume bakery production * Donuts, bread, or café/bakery experience preferred * Experience training or leading bakery teams * Strong understanding of dough handling, fermentation, and consistency * Comfortable with early morning production shifts Ideal Candidate * Senior Baker, Lead Baker, or Bakery Supervisor (production-focused) * Grocery bakery, café chain, or regional bakery experience * Strong operator who leads by example * Thrives in structured, fast-paced production environments Not a Fit If: * Corporate executive-only bakery background * Fine dining pastry chef without production volume experience * R&D or innovation-only roles * Not comfortable working hands-on in production Compensation * $75,000 - $95,000 base salary
