Client Accounting Services (CAS) ManagerPosition OverviewThe Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager will lead delivery of outsourced accounting services for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and excellent client relationships. This role combines technical accounting expertise with team leadership to oversee month-end close, financial statement preparation, process improvement, and the implementation of accounting technology. The CAS Manager will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, driving efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of CAS accountants and bookkeepers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development.Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes for multiple clients, review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance.Prepare, review, and deliver client-ready financial reports, dashboards, and analysis that support client decision-making.Serve as the primary client contact for accounting-related matters, build strong relationships, and translate technical accounting issues into clear recommendations.Coordinate with tax, audit, and advisory teams to ensure seamless delivery across services and support external reporting and compliance needs.Design and implement standardized workflows, internal controls, and KPIs to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability of CAS engagements.Drive adoption of accounting systems and automation tools to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.Identify client opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and value-added advisory services; prepare proposals and estimates as needed.Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and billing to meet service-level agreements and profitability targets.Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and best practices, and ensure the team applies these consistently across client engagements.QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree a plus.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential preferred; active CPA or working toward certification is strongly valued.5+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial exposure to Client Accounting Services, outsourced accounting, or public accounting.Proven experience managing teams and client relationships in a professional services environment.Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present financial information clearly to clients and stakeholders.Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality service.Experience implementing process improvements, internal controls, and scalable workflows.Ability to manage multiple client engagements, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
