Industrial Hygienist / Asbestos Project Manager

Job Description:Our environmental and engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Industrial Hygienist / Asbestos Project Manager to support Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene projects throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.This hybrid role combines field-based environmental investigations, hazardous materials oversight, industrial hygiene assessments, project management, and client interaction. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting asbestos, lead, IAQ, and environmental remediation projects in both field and consulting environments.Key Responsibilities:Lead hazardous building material surveys including asbestos, lead, mold, PCBs, universal waste, and indoor air quality investigationsServe as on-site Project Monitor for abatement oversight, air monitoring, and regulatory compliance verificationConduct industrial hygiene and indoor air quality assessments, including LEED IAQ evaluationsPerform moisture intrusion and microbial investigations and assist with remediation strategiesSupport vapor intrusion, radon, odor, and chemical exposure investigationsCoordinate directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project executionPrepare technical reports, proposals, compliance documentation, and project deliverablesManage project schedules, budgets, and field activities across multiple environmental projectsMentor junior staff and support technical development within the Building Sciences teamAssist in business development efforts and maintaining strong client relationships throughout New England.Required Qualifications:2+ years of experience in asbestos project monitoring, industrial hygiene, or hazardous building materials consultingBachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferredStrong understanding of asbestos, lead, IAQ, and environmental remediation regulationsExperience supporting environmental field investigations and compliance projectsAbility to work independently in both office and field environmentsStrong communication, organizational, and client management skillsValid driver’s license and reliable transportationPreferred QualificationsMA Asbestos Project Monitor and/or Asbestos Inspector certificationAsbestos Project Designer, Management Planner, or Monitor certificationsLead Inspector/Risk Assessor or Project Designer certificationsOSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPEROSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction SafetyIndoor Air Quality training or certificationBenefits:Competitive 401(k) plan with company matchMedical, dental, and prescription coverageGenerous PTO, holidays, and family leaveHybrid work environmentCareer advancement and professional development opportunitiesCollaborative and team-oriented culture focused on safety and technical excellence
